My design process began with trying out simply by trying out different fonts with the words The Linear Gallery on one plane. After a few iterations of that I thought about stacking the words and experimenting with different font sizes, styles, fill options, images, and color. The last few iterations i began to think of a basic iconic image that could be paired with the Linear Gallery title in different arrangements.

Project 9
In this process I want to see how the shape of the orthogonal grid could combine with the same grid traced with a spline curve. This is conveyed in the model by lofting the to shapes together, producing an unexpected form.

Project 8
My intention with this model was to explore the variety of repeating elements that occur in the photograph. Almost all of the objects in the photo repeat linearly, each with its own rhythm. In the renderings I tried to accentuate the patterns and the depth of the space.
In this model I extruded the overlapping grids in the photograph and pulled apart the figure ground vertically to show a hierarchy of objects. In the renderings I tried to see how the shadows and light sources would affect the reading of different layers of the model.
